Thanks Frederick, it is coming along.

Back to the structure, I have added shakes to the roof and while it does
look a bit better in real life over these photos, I think I will give
it a couple of more coats of black stain to darken it
up a bit.
The chimney is styrene tube and the flashing is paper.

OK, let's hear it. Neither one of these foundations
is finish painted but I'm trying to figure out what I should do.
None of the structures on my layout have high bases like the one Troels did
and I'm afraid that it will look out of place, however, it is part
of the charm of the building.

The second photo is using a low foundation that more matches other
buildings on the layout.

What do you think ???????

I Like the tall one. Will look good with a front porch and a nice set of steps.

Roland, I guess I agree with you but it will not have a porch, just the stairs as was
shown on Troels original structure.

Mike, Thanks for your comment. I decided to stay with the original structure (it is on a waterfront).

The exterior of the structure is done for now but
I may do a bit more weatering. I googled "vintage dental chair"
and downloaded several photos. Now I'll have to start
making stuff for the interior.

What a fine build!! Looks uncannily like some building I know, but of course in a somewhat better state (after all a dentist can afford shorter intervals between coats of paint :o)

Thanks Troels. From you that is a wonderful complement and I appreciate it.
It might interest you to know that in my scale that little structure is one foot tall.

I have started on the torture equipment for the interior [:-vamp] (sorry, dental equipment).

Here's my start on the vintage dental equipment.
First I googled "vintage dental" images and selected
a few. My models will be sort of a collection from different photos.

The scrap paper is how I make myself notes of shapes and sizes.

Here are the parts I will need, turned on a lathe from resin stock.
Yes, you can turn resin very nicely if you go slow.
They still need to be cleaned up and sanded a bit.

The wheel will be the flywheel on the foot powered
dental drill, it is a brake wheel from my spares box.

All else will be styrene stock and various brass rods and wire.

Your building is very beauiful, Bob, and you certainly captured perfectly the flavour of Troels' model.

Frederic and Karl.A, Again, I always appreciate your comments.

Here's the dental tools. There will be more
hoses and details added after they are painted.
I'm not an expert on dental tools but here's
the chair, a little table, a tank of rinse water,
a large "spitoon", and a foot treadle operated drill.
All the cushions are epoxy putty.

I forgot to mention this. Remember back when I was applying the clapboards
I decided to experiment with double sided tape
as many of our friends who use card like to do.
It worked OK with styrene, nothing at all wrong with
doing it but I honestly think that with styrene
it was more work that simply using liquid cement.

Looks fantastic Bob.... very cool indeed not to mention unique and superbly executed.

I came to the same conclusion on the sticky tape for clapboards.... more work than gluing. I felt That because only the edge of the board came in contact with the tape due to its angled position that the bond would not be strong or durable enough, I went back to glue.
