I got ver 301 (the big program from Bill) and installed it on my CTC computer. It looks like it is running fine. I will have to check each OS, but no errors is a great way to start.

Not much will happen until Thanksgiving weekend. Next weekend is tied up with train stuff, the following painting the dining room.

Wow, where has the time gone? Time, or lack of it has been my problem. I don't see any free time until New Years weekend to work on this.

Part of the problem I discovered this weekend when I actually tried is my soldering station tip is shot. Solder just balls up on it. I ordered 5 new tips today, so that problem will be solved.

My wife asked what I wanted for Christmas. I told her an assembled and tested SMINI board. I need to e mail Don Wood ASAP. I will order another DOUT 32 during the season when the budget allows.

Stay tuned.

That will allow me to work on this once a week through tax season, and make some progress.

Sometimes you can revive a plated tip temporarily by filing or sanding it, then applying a little acid flux and solder to get it tinned. But this depends on the underlying material.

Well, I finally did a little on this. Since my new tips arrived, I was able to repair signal 1322 that was damaged during the father nature explosion in Aug/Sept. I might just build some signals, and have em ready for installation, since I can't work on the machine. I do want to get the turnouts and signals at Laurel Run/Hazleton branch working.

I heard from Don Wood, and my new SMINI will be here in plenty of time for Christmas.

I need to get Hueber over here so we can test ver 301 (the big program) out. I got it running with all the nodes initializing, but have not checked anything else out. I need to give Bill feedback on this. I also still need to reset the control code inicators and shorten the timing. I have never gotten around to that.

Looking forward to getting back to this. Even though busy season is here, once Christmas is passed, can move the machine back out in the living room to work on it. That is preventing me from doing anything.

Merry Christmas everyone. I got my SMINI board from Santa today. I beleive the Ctestwood node requires 3 SMINI's so I could put it there, or add the next node (Packerton) and start installing stuff there. I will talk to Bill on this to see which he believes is best. But progress is a coming!

I have an issue with V 301 that Bill is helping me debug. I'll report back ASAP. Some extra cash has come my way. I will be ordering another SMINI and DOUT32 card, and maybe a second DOUT32 if cash becomes available.

Ny goal is to get as much of the main signaled and connected to the CTC machine as possible. This will eliminate most radio traffic except for staging track assignments chatter.

With three days off for a long weekend, I hope to make some good progress.

So when is the next session? I think you need to set a date and give yourself a goal! [:-eyebrows]

Mark, I know, I know. I am thinking late summer again or earlier if I can complete some needed tasks.

Arthur, there is nothing to photograph right now, just a bunch of wires. I spoke to Don Wood and ordered another SMINI for Packerton and a DOUT 32 card for the CTC machine. I will need one more DOUT 32 card, but that will have to wait right now. Look for more OS sections to start lighting up on the CTC machine soon.

I screwed up with Bill's instructions and need to order 2 DOUT 32's and not an additional SMINI. I corrected that with Don last night on the phone. Mark, Yea, late summer or maybe next year, I have an "issue" so I need to see where that takes me.

Not a good start to the new year, between car troubles and medical issues. My wife just got out of the hospital after two days with severe breathing issues, and I await direction on an issue.

On the bright side, I am purchasing an AT power supply from a club that does not need them anymore. A box arrived yesterday from Don Wood with two DOUT32's and a 30 ft long cable with connectors on each end. That will save me a lot of time.

So, since I was off yesterday for window installation and keeping an eye on my wife, I built the remaining DIN32. (Hint, don't get windows installed in Jan.) At least the house was not full of bugs.

Now as soon as the PS arrives, I can start working on the node downstairs.

I need to remove the SUSIC motherboard and solder all the new headers, then reinstall all the cards on them.

Ver 301 of the big program had an issue, but seems like Bill fixed it. I was going to test it all last Monday, but my wifes ER visit put that on hold. I will also be shortening some time sequences from last op session feedback.

Let's see where this all takes me, but it's now moving forward again.
