Well, I am feeling the heat. I only have 3 weekend days left to get everything ready. I expect some time off from work due to the natural slowness at this time of year so I might pick up some extra days.
From the signalling system items I have the following punch list.
1) Get code button 164 working so switch motor 164 works.
2) Get westbound signal 1641 working.
3) Get CTC machine indicator lamps working on OS 164.
4) Test all turnouts to make sure they function from the CTC machine. That is critical.
5) Put resist paint on all caboose axles for proper dedection.
This is in addition to all the othe rlayout prep stuff like clean basement, paperwork, clean track. I'm losing my hair,,,wait I dont have any.
Anything else that does not work will go on the punch list for me to work on before the next session, which I would like to have before the close of the year.
One thing I want to do is complete as soon as possible, the DIN 32 card for the SUSIC upstairs so I can hook up more items to the system.
As a side note, I have begun working on my dispatcher AP certificate. That requires me at some point to have 10 hours dispatching a railroad. If I do that at some future OP session, we will have me dispatching and Hueber in train service. Is my operating crew ready for that. I'll let Mark and Steam comment on that. |

What's this? Ralph dispatching and Hueber on the road??? [:-bigeyes]
[:-devil] Well, I've seen both - Ralph TRYING to dispatch and Hueber on the road. AND, I've seen Hueber dispatch and Ralph on the road. Here's an example - Ralph, remember the time I was working the yard, and you took the local out. You came back about 2 hours later... WITH THE SAME CARS! [:-banghead]
As they say, it's 6 of one, and a half a dozen of the other! [:-crazy][:-drunk][:-headache][:-indifferent] |

There was a reason for the returned cars. Upon inspection they said the material was defective shipped from Barrett Co. So they said ship it back. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! |

The westbound signal 1641 at Laurel Run is connected to the system. It still needs to be tested for proper aspects, but it is alive. The turnout indication lamps are working on the CTC machine. Only OS 164 signal lamps and that all important code button remain to be installed.
Once I get the Hazleton branch switch motor connected I will be able to install the backdrop and remove the furnace from view.
I also need to rip out the temp flex track and relay this with code 83 ahnd laid track.

| Well, I have switch motor 164 working in direct mode, but it will not work in normal mode using the code button. If I can get this to work I will stop here on the CMRI system for the OP session. If I can't, I will disconnect the wires and wire in a DPDT toggle to have the crews control this. Man, Aug 7 came quick! |

Me too. It's not to late to cancel.
I got switch motor 164 working in normal mode. I used an earlier version of the program and it worked fine. I'm done touching this thing. What is done is done.
This will be more of a debugging session than an operating session. I can't edit and update the paperwork because I do not have excel on my computer. I have it on my laptop, but I do not know how to connect my laptop to my wireless printer. My laptop has excel. |
