Okay, 2010 participants, this will be the thread we use to post pictures of our visiting cars.

Our cars should first hit the road in late March for an April 1st arrival.

For those new to the program, we discussed packaging the cars for safe shipment beginning on page 1 of the 2008 Interchange Sightings thread. Here is the link: http://www.railroad-line.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=20322&whichpage=1

Let's kick off this thread by posting some pictures of our interchange cars on their home roads prior to their nine month journey.

Hey gang great start. D&H boxcar #17384 is sitting in siding being loaded at Golden Golden Valley Canning in Sideny NY. It is on its way to the Jersey Highland road for delivery.

Cheers!, Joe

Joe, I thought that the "&" symbol in the name of the car in the photo was the problem - but there must be another problem, too. Sorry.

Looking forward to this interchange. Got the list printed out and put it on the train board. Going to take picture's of the car I plan to send out today. Waiting on a job call now for a DOD helpdesk tech for the EDS program they took my info and doing a SSC background check .I told them I never had a problem going out to NASA for Cingular so there should be no problem here. But any how as soon as thats is done i will get her ready and make sure the couplers are good and get my shipping box out. Will do the photo shoot later today.

I caught an interesting consist heading out of the Jersey Highlands Main Yard today. First of all, the Susquehanna must have run short of motive power this morning and had to borrow an RS-3 from the Erie. Then there was quite a mixture of coal cars loaded with anthracite coal behind the road switcher. That is not uncommon on the Jersey Highlands, that often grabs any cars they can when there home cars run low. Anyway, it is rumored that one of the cars will soon begin a 9 month journey around the country!

Joe, one of the cars in my photos will soon be heading your way. Your car will be headed to John in Florida - and the shuffle begins!

Now I'm really feelin' bad since I didn't throw my hat (railcar) into the ring, especially since O&W #52334 won't be comin' my way! . .That is the car you're sendin', . .right Bruce? That's the one I'd want! [:-jump2]

Some nice looking cars already! Time to get busy with Crispy and decide what is hitting the rails this year.

Looking at this from the outside in, I agree with Allen.

Put the "Old Woman" on the road!

I thought the O&W car myself when I saw it in the consist Bruce. So that is my guess.

Here is my interchange car for this go around.

This was taken in front of the East Haddam station on the Valley Branch. This one is fresh from the paint shop.

Here's my entry for this year's Interchange. I was looking for another B&O car so if I find it before the end of the month I'll make the switch.

The decision has been made. This year it is a WP covered hopper that will be heading out of here with a cement load. Crispy decided that he did not have a car that he wanted to send out, so he will be following along as one of mine hits the tracks.

Some great looking cars will be making the rounds this year!

Well, it looks like the Old Woman will hit the rails by popular demand. I'm sure that after all the miles she will return Old & Weary!
