That's gorgeous Michael! It fits in perfectly and matches better than a photograph.

It looks like you are using Vallejo acrylics but maybe they aren't. Did you paint the edge of the poster board?

I use what I have on hand , but thats right, I used Vallejo and some Rembrandt and some Liquitex and some...
I used many brands for short .
I did paint the edge of the board as well.

Micheal, I'm just catching up on your thread and my goodness, you have definitely gotten a lot done! And that backdrop looks great! So rarely does a hand painted backdrop look so good. Nice work!

Very nice work. How's the sound transmission when you run trains? Whenever I've glued track right to the foam it buzzes like crazy.

This isnīt so much of a problem as it is a switching layout and the speeds are so low. But even when I have really speeded a loco over it, it isnīt much noise from the tracks.
I think it may have something to do with the fact that I used a flexible glue to glue it, and the ballast Iīm using is softer than WS for example.

I have been busy installing some lights on the layout. I think it is especially important to have night lighting on a layout that is situated in the living room as this one is .
Here are some photos of the result:

Night on the docks.

The switcher is doing the nightshift on the harbor.

Thanks, Iīm experimenting with the nightshots. Itīs real fun to do.
I have been building some more as well; lights for the Kirkīs sign:

I made the lights using 2 mm incandescent lights and the shades is made from 0.5 mm plasticard that I glued into a coneshape.
I use transformer wire for conduits as it is almost scale thickness on it.
I think it looks okay, I also lighted the interior of the shop as well.
