I am always amazed when I see all that you can do with simple sheets of paper, Troels.

Ben, as promised, here's what designs I made for the weavery: first one was the initial idea for the area, made in december 2008, then the painting I did a couple of months back of the same subject, and lastly the quick sketch (as you can see, I don't stick too much to the details, but the general idea has remained intact):

First test fitting has also taken place... I've roughed in the walls with paint, mounted windows and doors, and glued them temporarily together.

Another great set of structures in the making, Troels. I build one wall, you build three buildings. Northern efficiency against southern quiet pace...

Troels, it's interesting seeing your drawings and paintings of these buildings and then you scroll down a little more and see it in 3D. Excellent!

I think that at this point, it is better to ask what you are NOT good at doing. That is, I suspect, a very short list.
I wish I could have a few of your sketches to hang on my wall.

Hello Troels,
I never really liked to build structures. But, after seeing your practices and results, I decided to gve it a try.
I have included a picture of the small building that I just finished. It was actually fun to build.
The basic structure is of black strathmore mat board. It was easy to cut. I glued the white paper pattern to the black mat and then cut the sides amd the window holes. The pattern gave me guide lines for the clapboard.
Painting the paper was a blast. Sloppy was good!
The pastel paper cut easily and cleanly with a rotary cutter.
Double sided carpet tape is super -- no messy glue.
I painted, cut, and applied the shingles to this small building in about an hour. double sided tape worked well here too.
The best part is that the building is finished, but for light weathering, as you put it together.
I have got to try a larger building now.
Thanks for making building structures fun.

Not much modeling the last two days... a bug of sorts had me and the missus down counting yesterday. Better today, so I got the handtexting for ms Tesdorf painted on with only slightly shaky hands. Found this lovely font on my computer (called excentric I think). It's near to impossible to transfer the print to the dark, painted surface, so I freehanded with a copy printed out in the same size taped just above... makes sizing and spacing much easier.

Nice! I like the little shack. Good job. I too plan to give the 'Troels school of structure building' a try. I will report my results, whenever I get around to it. I am having trouble finding a nice artist's supply store around here to buy some paper and acrylics.
