Good afternoon everyone,
No snow here, we got lucky this time. Thanks for the coffee, could use a cup about now.
Managed to get some modeling time last night and got some work done on the trackwork for Mosquito Flats, I'll post some pictures later.
Well time to grab a cup of joe and look over the rest of the forum.
Have a great day everyone.

| HI all, well that cold and snow stuff sounds awful,,haven't been in a place where it snows for 30 yrs or more and can't imagine spending hours shoveling that's gotta be tough. We have rain here in Or. today and about 60 degrees so I am not complaining. |

Thought I would give you guys an update on the Frog Juicer, this is one slick little dude, I got it wired in today and up and running. Works really well, no more hesitation on the one turnout with the Tortoise that was throwing faster than the reverse circuit. I don't think you can get any easier than this for wiring in your hot frogs, no polarity or wire issues whatsoever.....JMO Jerry

Good evening all Sorry to hear about all this shovelling everywhere. Here in France some places have had snow, others have not, for the moment we haven't. In fact between last midnight and last noon, temperatures have increased from -5°C to +10°C. I couldn't believe the weather was so mild when I went outside this morning. Jerry, this device looks awfully complicate to me, and I would never have called it easy. This must be a matter of being used to this kind of technique.
A moment ago, I had said I would post a picture of real thin tweezers which make the installation of NBWs very easy. Than I had a computer breakdown which took a moment to recover from, and now I can't remember where it was. If I remember well, Arthur in particular was interested. Here are a few pics showing the tweezers at work, as well as a PBL despruer very efficient to make cuts in places relatively difficult to reach.

Good evening Frederic, I may be able to help you out on this one, about 10yrs. ago I bought from the MicroMark catalog a sprue cutter, it was kinda spendy at I think about 29.00 or thereabout but it is like the Pink Bunny it just keeps on going. I have cut not only hundreds of NBW's with it but kit parts, strip wood and it makes a fantastic trimmer for that little piece of wood on small building trim. I am going to order another or at least a new set of blades soon. I paint a spru of nbw's and then lay the blade along the strip and cut off about six at a time with this tool. Can't speak highly enough about it. Jerry

Morning all Was a nice, sunny, no wind, mild yeasterday. Good for a couple of woods walks.
TSP, my sister loved your picture, she hoped that she remember to lock her car.
Rick, thanks for thinking of me. The decaf tasted pretty good. What flavor is it.
Frederic, just wait, last I heard, is that the storm is heading your way. Ha.
I will be taking Carol to the dentist in Wausau today, so I get to hit a couple of hobby stores while I wait for her. Ya. Then maybe some more shopping if she is feeling up to it.
Great day to all. |

Jerry, thanks for the picture and hint about your cutting tool. Don't the NBWs ever fly in the ether when you cut several at a time?

Morning Guys!
Nice little tools to make cutting and attaching those pesky little rivet etc.
Looks like winter has arrived and Christmas is on our heels. I have been working on the cad drawing for the Big River Maru, trying to work the bugs out. Looks like Steve,Ron,and Larry are interested in building this little Jem.
I finally finished a couple of the paddles and they are 1' to large in diameter. I ended up making the ring out of plastic as Bill suggested. I made a couple of trueing jigs for sanding the rings on the outside and inside...another learning experience. This is all good fun trying to replicate an old boat.

| Frederic, this does not have a snap it cuts clean with no impact and I just cut them over a cup. I usually do about a hundred at a time and store them that way there always on hand painted and ready. Jerry |

Jerry,
I sent you a PM with respect to wiring the Tortoise when you use the Frog Juicer. Others may be interested so you might post your answer here.
Appreciate the help. |
