Mario, that's a masterpiece. Do you still have it? Must be something in the water or living in the southern hemisphere, but it seems like everyone down under has the knack for scenery. Mario, maybe you could send me a jug. Wouldn't hurt to try. |

Excellent job. In a small place that looks to be big.

Mario, it just goes to show us all that lack of space is not an excuse for not having a railroad. Fine looking layout.

Thankyou for your comments and hope more small layouts with vertical scenery are built.
G'day Rick... this was another project that eventually ended up at the rubbish tip...
In future I will donate my project layouts, so they stay alive..
cheers all

I don’t usually go into Micro-Mini Layouts and now I’m certainly glad I did. ‘Cause missing this little gem would be a tremendous loss. WHAT, you threw it out with the morning trash!!! What were you thinking!
Mario, you sure do some spectacular stuff. I agree with Rick, got to be something with that water from down under. Between you, Dan and Geoff I can’t seem to get enough of that dense scenery. That does it, I’m going to have to buy an On30 loco and cars and build one of my own. I’m getting more sedentary in my old age and that’s a perfect excuse to sit at the bench and build and run trains at the same time.

CRIKEY !!!. I return to the RRL after a break and I see some nice comments. Thanks guys... Ego has trebled than normal
Frank. One day we will all end up wtahcing trains go in circles [:-hypnotized]. I think that is how we started in the hobby.
As mentioned on occasions, most of my stuff ends up in land fill. Maybe that will change for a few current modules.
ciao "M"
PS... Watch this space during 2013 !!!

Frank. Here is a circle of track I started many moons ago. Lost interest in it and threw it away. Hand laid track, On30 wagons and 1:35 figures. Frank. If you don't want to travel to the DARK SIDE ( On30 ), you could the same for Gn15 ( 16.5mm track ). Rubber gauging
Terry. You're right. Circle of track could lead you anywhere in this hobby [:-thumbu]

Mario,
I’m working on just such an Fn3 locomotive. It started out life as an LGB Chloe (Ward Kimble’s private loco). I traded for it because it had that certain narrow gauge charm and certainly not for the gaudy looks of red plastic and gold trim. I painted it black and weathered it and ran it for some time then I decided to go Porter.
My first conversion made it into a 5-Ton Porter look-a-like. Well that was years ago and the SC has long since stopped using track power. So it sat, and sat, and sat. Now it’s into its second rebirth along with a conversion to AirWire and battery power.
It still has that Porter appeal but my original Porter cab is gone and a more open brass and wood one replaces it. Cab roll-up curtains have been installed for those cold mornings. The water tank has been lengthened a bit and the front pilot has been extended and a small hand crank winch added. A custom formed lead block or solder has been crammed into almost every nook and cranny of the water tank and boiler to give it additional tractive effort. The rear pilot has also been extended a little. The old engineer has retired and his replacement hired. All of the track connections were removed and the motor was wired with a plug to connect to the “electronics” tender.
The tender has been required to haul the electronics gear around. The frame and wheel set are from a Bachmann side-dump ore car.
I've been working on it for about a week and it's got a long way to go. But here's a peak.
