Module Update: A few months ago a member of our module club became inactive and gave his two modules away to new members. Unfortunately, for many reasons the modules made their way through four different members who were unable to make much progress in renovating them. Recently, the modules came into my hands in various stages of disrepair. I thought it a shame to see the modules broken up for salvage so I thought I would create a couple of new scenes. The basics were all there (track work -ripped up in a few spots, wiring, and some remaining scenery. In an effort to salvage these so that we did not have an 8-ft gap to fill in our group layout, I have begun a renovation. I started by repairing the track, adding 6-inches to the existing 24" wide base, and building some new scenery (hills and landscape. The intent is to make these more scenery driven with only a small abandoned mine and tipple on one module. Attached are pictures of the modules about 75% complete. I intend to combine with my other two modules creating a consistent looking theme 16-ft. long. In July our group is displaying our layout at the model railroad show following the NMRA convention in Sacramento. Stop by and say hi! if you are in town. Scott

Those modules look very nice. Natural daylight really is the best light for photographing model in - everything looks its best!

Good for you Scott. Can't wait to see what you do with them. Have to agree with Neil, natural sun lite does wonders.

A module update. Took a few test pictures today of one of the "new" modules. This module includes a siding where a helper engine is sitting for its next task. The small red shack is provided to give the crew a place to get out of the weather when needed. Looks like they need to get out of the way of a bear that has happened upon them. I also added some trees and painted the water area to give it a more vibrant fast moving stream (late spring melt) affect. A couple of kids can be seen trying to fish along the bank. Scott,
So Fine. Very good looking and effective trees (THE DEAD ONE TOO). Good overall job on the scenery as far as color, material size and proportions. The Crossing Shanty (?)is well done. I think some of your roof shingles are lifting a bit too much. Something you should be able to remedy in your scale. The train also is well built and to my taste well weathered. The equipment looks a little old but well used. Your engine wipers need to be "written up" or a least have a "dance on the carpet".

Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.

P.S. Love the bear. Hope those fishing boys can see it by looking under the freight cars. We don't want to have a Elisha incident do we.
