Golden is a US brand I've used. "Light" and "Hard" versions are available via Amazon etc.

Thanks jbvb( for the productinformation!)
Frederic, carmine and ginosega.
About the roots on the base of the trunk:
Before adding the bark I drilled some small holes for the "main"roots I modelled out of small floristic wires...actualy they look like very small short trees...;-)but only in 2 dimensions/flat=)
they're covered too with the sawdust and/or modellingpaste
semilar to this big old gnarly HO tree...

I see - you make a root section that branches out from a single wire, and then you glue that wire into a hole you drill into the base of the trunk. Repeat this several times around the circumference of the trunk and then apply the bark to blend everything together. Thank you again Jos, your work is an inspiration!

If you had said these were photos of real trees I would believe it. Outstanding modeling!

T be hounest...I cheated..
the "tree" is only 1 and a 1/2 inch tall-35 mm.

How to;
short piece of floristic wire: 3 inches
spray the top with spray glue and add some 12 mm grasfibres....repeat so 2 thin layers of 12 mm
Again sprayglue and this time some 6 mm ones... and the last ones/layer will be 2 mm grassfibres. (All Grasfibres added with the Grasmaster from NOCH)
Than adding( sieve!!) the fine turf from WS.of course first some sprayglue...

tadaaa

Jos
