That certainly is a gorgeous looking bridge at Bridgeport! Beautiful scene!
I visited the club several years ago, well, gee, probably about 2000, time sure does go by, and anyway, I remember coming away with the thought that the Mt. Hood club was every bit as nice as the Gorge club - smaller, true, but just as well presented. |

You guys have put together a great looking club layout, Don. I think I saw a some photos of it a few years back, but it looks like you guys have gotten quite a bit more accomplished since then. [:-thumbu]

I would agree with Al, the scenery on the Mt. Hood club layout is every bit as good as the Columbia Gorge scenery. I am especially impressed with the Paper Mill scene just to the left of the main entrance. When I stop by for their open house, I always stop and look at that scene.
My question is, who does the scenery on the Mt. Hood layout, is it a team effort, or is it done by one or two people?

| The paper mill was done by the late Bob Bernard, who built many of the other structures, including the town of Timber. Rick Martin is responsible for the marvelous carved rock cut. Jim Moomaw and Gerry Howard had a big hand in the scenery along the layout edge as you enter through the front door. |

Bob was an outstanding modeler and gentleman and is sorely missed by those who knew him. Whenever I was at a loss to come up with a building to fit a location on the layout, I asked Bob for his assistance, and by the next week, he had a building already in place!! When trying to figure out a way to camouflage this support beam at Clackamas, I asked Bob what he thought. Well, the next week, this little beauty showed up!!

Here are some updated photos of the club layout. Much has been happening, and the Riveston area is totally remade.[:-cowboy]
This shot looks to the newly developed area that replaced downtown Riveston. The houses in the back ground are N-scale.
This is the revised area around the Riveston depot.
And here is the new coal yard and scrap dealer. The mainline that heads east, towards the Cascades can barely be seen behind the coal yard.
And here is a shot of the developing Milwaukie area, shot through the tunnel portal that leads from Portland. Portland is the latest extension being built and is currently going through track installation.
