Good call, Larry! [:-cowboy] My daughter elaborated to suggest the 'Jumping Jackalope'. I can only assume there is a string of minor derailments that served to give it that nickname.
Other names suggested by family members over dinner:
The 'Clattering Coyote' The 'Rambling Roadrunner'
Great names. Looks like the snake is out of a job. Hissss!

Flash! The 'Jumping Jackalope' has been voted as the approved mascot of the AV&W railbus:

Larry, I owe you a cerveza fria for your suggestion, thanks amigo! 'Jack' will be proudly painted on each side of the railbus or freight box.

I like the Jumping Jackalope, perhaps it could be pulling some Leaping Lizards.[:-bigmouth] |

I liked "The Rattler", but "jumping jackalope" is good too.
Someday I plan to build a railcar from a Model T, and call it the "Tin Lizard" -- a desert-themed play on the "Tin Lizzy" nickname of the Model T.

Thanks Ray, you and I are both 'desert rats'. I was initially OK with the Rattler as well, it was a good play of words for what the thing would sound like ambling down the track. But the marketing for snakes is a tough sell in most folks' minds, and I understand that too!
Tin Lizard sounds like a great name...I was considering the Chuckawalla as a name originally. Go for it! |

| Having ridden a goose around Knott's loop, I think "The Rattler" fits well but "The Jumping Jackalope" certainly works too. |

Vern, I like your project, I like the Rattler, but then the road runner back dated would be a fun logo on the side...would probably use a real road runner logo. Thanks for the info on the lighting, interesting problem, do you know what pins you jumped? Blue and Yellow or Blue and White?
