Bill, . .Great shots, I particularly like the last one. I've got just the thing for the May Blossom/Battle Ship reefer when it comes my way, . .some steam of course! BTW, did you realize that they're getting double-billing out of that car? [:-thumbu] Also, did you notice the announcement of the new NYNH&H steam engine ($450) in the most recent issue of MR?

Thanks for the cudo's on the last shot. That's my favorite one so far too.

The NH steamer......MR is behind the times with that review. I've had mine since January. Boy does it run and sound great!! Here's a shot of it on my layout

Ok, OK, Here's the real photo on my layout...[:-jester]

Bill, . .That's a mighty-fine lookin' steamie with the side line and all, but whar's that fancy logo on the tender? The I-5's white drivers and that front-end 'J' look make it an engine of distinction. [:-thumbu] I wonder which one came first, the I-5 or the 'J'?

Crispy, . .The Well-known gingerale boxcar has arrived. [:-jump2]

Don, from the yard crew, called-in this morning to announce that a uNique & Well-known car had arrived on the transfer tracks.

'Yep!' I responded, 'I have the paperwork right here in my hands.' Continuing, I said, 'You mean Crispy's Neat & Well-known boxcar?'

'Yes!' he responded, 'That twud be the one! Jerry (one of the crew members) went out to take some pictures before the transfer was made.'

Crispy, . .As soon as I get some copies of the pictures, I'll post 'em! Looks like your car is going to be known as the CNW car. And now for some gingerale, we drink lots of it around here!

Delivery Scheme Allen. The New Haven was spelled out (1939). Then came the small script logo then the larger one until the end in 1950. These could haul a21 car train on the Shore Line from Boston to New Haven (engine change)at 80 mph without a problem.

Here are some of the pictures Jerry took as our early morning mythical train arrived:

At point, Virginian Alco #4301 is followed by a borrowed N&W GP20, #2009. Together, they
lead a short freight consist, and tailing Virginian caboose towards the East end of the yard.

Above far right, and below left of center, the CNW gingerale boxcar is third in the consist, and sandwiched
between two other boxcars, Napa Valley Northern's #800 & South Branch Valley's #2046.

I caught the PRR bringing a string of freight cars to the interchange track.

I love that Shark Nose!

The DL&W is getting a car back, I see.

Hmm, it looks like a rider found an open door on that Alton car. He better jump out before they stop in the yard!

Now here's a visitor I haven't seen before -- a car from the Nashville Road. I wonder what she's carrying?

Nice pictures, Bruce! Can't wait to see what you come up with for the NR's commodities.

Here's Jerry's last three pictures of the transfer:

As Don lifts his lantern, Hank identifies both the NVN and CNW boxcars which are to be
set-out on the Timber transfer track. 'Better be careful with that one,' Don comments,
'That's the boss's gingerale!' [:-smile_green]

A few moments later, at the other end of the car, Hank prepares to mount
and do a little down-line switching, . .

as Don remains behind to flag the mainline.

Next: The dayshift crew arrives to move the cars for unloading.

Allen, Crispy is thrilled! Great idea for the shots with the early morning lighting and the shots with the lantern. We are still awaiting the arrival of our next car, which will hopefully get here soon.

Very good night shots with the lantern Allen. Tell the 'boss' not to drink too much ginger ale. It makes people susceptible to relapses of 'Yellow Chick Fever'!

Looks like the dayshift crew (Ernie, Jim, Dave, & Pete) has arrived and they are headed
toward the transfer track. Before we are done here, I think they will have given new
meaning to the term, feather-bedding!

Below, with Ernie at the helm, and Jim riding point, the switcher moves East to pick-up
the waiting cars:

In the backgrounds above and below, note the team track & dock with the waiting
forklift which will be used to unload these special boxcars.

Below, having uncoupled the cars, Jim positions himself on the opposite end of
the engine for switching duty. . .

as the train creeps towards the crossing. . .

and beyond:
