Ron-
Thanks for the update. Always enjoy seeing your posts of laying track.
Did you decide to add the siding as a result of operating the layout? I agree with Larry ... it will be an excellent spot to showcase rolling stock, open loads, etc.

Thanks for the comments Mark, Bryan and Rick.

Andy,
You don't mean this do you?

I bought this years ago at a train show when I was thinking of building a small British layout. Never did build the layout but started the van. If I ever find the rest of the pieces (I put them where I wouldn't loose them[:-bigeyes]) I'll finish it. |

Thank you Ron, I will take you up on that when I am in Ottawa and you have time.
I have a bunch of those English cars on my Rutland layout too, but they have faces on them and are quite troublesome.

| This english car is a cutie, Ron. I hope you'll find the missing parts and complete it. |

Well I decided that I needed to spend at least one night a week working on the layout and last night was the first night.
I have a number of projects I want to do but one I have wanted to get done for a long time was to build a removable piece of scenery in from of the electrical panel, so I figured that would be a good place to start.

The real estate in front of the electrical panel.

The base and first layer of polystyrene insulation board added. I decided to install the board vertical as much less material would be required.

A close-up of the progress at the tunnel entrance.

The second layer of polystyrene insulation board added and carved to the general shape.

A close up of the left end of the removable section.

A close up of the right end of the removable section.
The goal is to install some rock castings along the front of the insulation board to create a sort of rock cliff.
Next up installing the rock castings that I already have and blending them together with spackling compound, should be fun.

Ron,
What is the foot print of your church? I am looking at scratch building a school house. The plans I have make it 24 ft. wide, 29 ft. long. It has 3 windows per side. I think it might be a little to big for what I want. |

Thanks for the comments Martin and Geezer.
Tom the church was a limited run kit produced by Outback Models. AS for it's footprint, I'll check when I get home tonight and will let you know.
