Terrific scenery, especially for a club layout.
I took this one at the Winchester Western yard at Gore VA. This railroad carries sand in covered hoppers from the Gore quarry to the Norge, VA bottle factory via the CSX interchange at Winchester, VA(nee B&O). The bottles are shipped in trucks to the Budweiser brewery in Williamsburg VA. Both of these engines were originally Norfolk & Western. GW

Was at Bill Meek's last night for FNG. His layout is based on the Ottawa Central. A totally alco road. Here is his switcher doing some lifts at the rolling mill in Hawksbury.

Chris...you need to dig out some photos of M420W's or even those hideous Bombardier HR616 2100 series locos.
Or how about CP 4744...the only M640 ever built by MLW...talk about a unique Canadian locomotive! 4000 hp of raw Alco power...hoooo-rah! |

Blane. I looked to see what I could find on my other posting site railpictures.net. This was a great find. After BC Rail was bought out by CN I visited the Walker yard Engine Facility Edmonton, Alberta, Canada April 10, 2005 and I believe they were using it to move locomotives in and out of the facility.
By the look of this it was probably used by BC Rail in yard work in Vancouver. It also looks like it is set up for remote control and has a number of added warning lights. I believed they were remotored by CAT. This is a RS-20C {Rebuilt MLW RS-18]

I think I will start a Sunday Routine (If I am home) of Alcos.
I took this shot in Fairview Yard Halifax; just right of the roundhouse. The turntable also services some outdoor holding tracks where the locomotives can be turned, made into consists and sent to the sanding and fueling rack (seen in upper left corner of photo). Of course the roundhouse is gone now and it is great to have these memories of visits there, After work or on a Saturday or Sunday Morning.
Interesting to see that the track has no bumper. So for those who have trouble finding those CN bits the prototype proof is there, though you may end up on the floor or in this case on the road.
