I have been working on detailing an RS-32 for the NYC, purchased the Cal-Scale detailing parts and have installed them and painted the unit and am presently decaling the unit. Some pictures of the detailing process are attached.

The pilot area after installing MU hoses, coupler lift bar and grabrail.

Grabs and lift rings on the top and side of the unit.

Grabs on the front of the unit.

Grabs on the rear of the unit.
Will post pictures when the entire loco is done!

Now this is very interesting for this thread. I really like the progress you are making on this shell. Do you have a picture of the NYC prototype you are going to create?

Attached is a picture of a typical NYC RS-32, I have not found a picture of #2030 in this scheme but all were delivered in this paint scheme.

Copywright Gary Steuben/George Elwood
Note the two blat horns on the long hood versus the 3 chime that came with the locomotive. Also they had more lift rings than those shown on the picture with the Cal-Scale kit.

Thanks Chris, but I can't take credit for the paint job.The unit is a Bowser factory paint. It was originally numbered 5308.I removed the no. using sol-v-set,scotch tape and eraser and then renumbered.I painted out the no.boards and added the new no.I did hand paint the trucks, fuel tank and under frame with a weathered black and used white weathering chalk to highlight.I added the crew, drop steps, speed and wheel slip recorders, arm rests and weathered with powders and pencil. The unit was sealed with dull coat .

Here is the finished engine except for the number boards which will be added when I get the decals.

Most of the details were acquired with the Cal-Scale Kit except for the two Blat Horns mounted on the long hood. Microscale provided the decals, and the numberboards will be Shellscale. There is also a Details Associates Bell under the Walkway.
Thanks for looking!

During our recent Ice Cream Social at the Whippany Railway Museum, GSD members had a chance to get up close and personal with one of the ALCO C424’s that the Morristown and Erie currently uses for motive power. That ALCO, #19, started life on the Toledo, Peoria & Western Railroad.

Yes, this is me sitting at the controls, trying not to get in trouble.

That is me on the far right with my RR-L Forum golf shirt on.

Rick, I Realy like the NYC Alco. The nice rounded lines of the roof and the notched ends. Won't be long before the black smioke and thunder will be working a yard on your RR. Bruce. Looks like you guys had a real blast at the museum. The only thing missing is the ice cream
