Henry, that's a great looking conversion![:-thumbu][:-thumbu] I would never have guessed its MDC Shay origins.

Dear all,
for more ideas on small radius locos have a look in my "A" class climax topic. the climaxs are made from SW7 mechs one being Athern and the other being a proto 2000.
Also something truly horiffying, I to also have a small layout. it was built for the 7th Australian narrow gauge and features 9 inch radius curves and both the Bachmann On30 Shay and Climax go round the curves comfortably. the photos below should tell the story

Henry, What magic did you do to get your shay to handle 8.5" radius turns? I'm very interested in making my MDC shay handle tight turns!!!
