Greetings folks,

Here’s some progress shots of my HOn3 Copper Creek Mining Company, the CCMC.

An ariel view, with a few notes. It's 15" in diameter.

The boiler to run the hoist house. It's a Keystone kit.

Here's the headframe, based on Lane Stewart's 'Invisible Mine' series in the NG&SLG. Still needs detailing...

CCMC No. 1, a Grandt Line 23 ton boxcab. I love these kits, and have put together three so far. It runs slow but loud.

Hope you enjoy, I'll be sure to keep this thread updated.

Cody, this is looking great! [:-thumbu] Two things I especially like: the hoist house boiler (very nicely done!) and the fencing and cribbing in the last photo (excellent weathering!) You've got a great start on your mini![:-thumbu]

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a busy man. I have a railroad to run.

Cody,
Excellent mini! My favourite gauge. (is there any other??) Us narrow gaugers lean towards the same kits, I have the keystone boiler and 2 of the Boxcabs, Cliff sure did make em slow running but the Mabuchi's do scream in protest. Is the ore car a Koppell side dump? Keep us posted as you move ahead.[:-party]

Thanks Mike & Paul!

I'm glad you like the boiler, thanks for not mentioning the coat of dust, I can't believe I've been working on a square foot layout for almost 2 years! And speaking of boilers, dose anyone know how this would be connected to the winch for the hoist? I'm going to use a two drum winch kit from Rio Grande Models for the winch house.

The ore car is another Grandt kit. The poor thing was converted from HOn3 to HOn30 and then back again (I did the same thing with a Bachmann Porter, I guess I've never been good at making up my mind...). It wobbles like crazy but dosen't derail.

Thats a neat looking Micro , but I'm jealous ! .I could never get my Grandt lines boxcab to run more than one foot without a push . Infact when I started on RRL in '03 , I asked for any suggestions on making it run . The wipers and short wheelbase seem to be the issue , especially on turnouts with the wheelbase . You don't have that problem on the Micro .
