This was the main item to be auctioned off at the Carlsbad Train Show. The rolling stock ranged from 15 to 18 inches in length. The complete train is on two 8 ft folding tables. Any guesses to scale? No one there knew.
It could even be Number 2 or 3 gauge for all I know. It looks a fair bit too big for Number 1. I did read an explanation that had the gauges of all the older "scales"; i.e. No's 1, 2, 3, and 4.
O scale used to be 0 (zero) scale because it was smaller than 1 scale, the previous smallest scale.
It is fun to note how realistic the real weathering is even when acting on much smaller pieces of rolling stock than real ones.
