Well I figured I'd do the town side next. I had an old Pola single stall engine house I'd never put together. The roof is real Euro looking so it won't be used, in these photos the black temp roof is a peice of poster board. Here you can see how much I'm having to hack it up to fit. [:-banghead][:-bigeyes][:-magnify]

Here I added a curved piece of balsa to the inside wall to block the view of the inside of the tunnel (I hope )

Here was a test fit before I started painting on it. I later filled the hole in with a peice of poster board and some spackling compound.

Another test fit

Before gluing the real roof on I added a few odds and ends inside of the door to give the idea that maybe they actually work on locos in there [:-bigeyes2]

Now with the trees, bushes etc. still got to add more details but overall its getting there. It took many tries to get the engine house in just the right spot so everything clears both doors. When it was finally done I have about 1/32 inch clearance on each door [:-bigeyes][:-crazy]

Because the engine house and the depot are critical to operations the depot (which is on the far right of the town side) will be what I'll work on next. Then whatever space is left over will be used to try to give a hint of a small town somewhere around this place! |

Tyson, I really enjoyed seeing the sequence of pictures from start to finish. Boy, necessity is really the mother of invention! Great job. |

An excellent job of kitbashing, Tyson![:-thumbu] And the proof of that is in the final photo - very convincing scene! [:-thumbu]
I'm really enjoying following your progress on this. Thanks.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a busy man. I have a railroad to run.
