Thanks for the kind words guys! Lab-dad I live in the Nantahala Nat. Forest and next to the Nantahala gorge here in S.W. North Carolina. Do you live in this area also or is there a Nantahala something or another where you live? BTW Nanthala is Cherokee for what? And why do they call it that?

Tyson,
Since there are a lot of "armchair" modelers who use lack of space as their reason for not getting out of that chair, I think that an article in one of the modeling magazines is in order. Very nice work.

Bruce trying to convince the armchair modelers that you need less space then you think is one of the reasons for starting the "Challenge".

Tyson, very well done. I've been thinking of doing a small switching layout, with a small yard and engine facility on one end and some lineside industries on the other. Thanks for the pictures.

Rick think about making the trackplan u-shaped with the yard and enginehouse on one side, the industries on the other. Multi-story buildings down the center would be your view block, or you could use a skyboard with photos and building flats.

Tyson, that's an interesting idea. I can see how having the view block gives the impression of having traveled a further distance away from the yard. I'll keep it in mind, thanks.

Rick another trick is to put a building on each side of the tracks and connect them with a enclosed overhead walkway creating a concrete, brick or wood tunnel for the train to pass thru.
