Allen (anbhurst) has requested some photos of N&W steam from the 1987 NRHS Convention in Roanoke. Here are some photos I scanned a while back.

This one in the A 1218 at Bluefield, WV.

Now we have several photos of the J 611 pulling I think it was 19 coaches and the A 1218 pulling 50 hoppers running side by side in Salem, VA.

This one is of the A & J double header in Roanoke later that day. The locomotives ran side by side from Roanoke to Radford, VA. From Radford to Roanoke they double headed with the A on the point.

The last photo is of the J. Unfortunately I don't remember where I took this photo. It was on the first day of the convention. The A took the train from Roanoke to Bluefield and the J brought it back.

When I get a chance I will scan some more photos.
