Thanks, I hope this inspires some of you to try it (or something new)

Dave handle is Grandt Line
Unfortunately they only come with a boxcar set.....
The SS ltd are great, too bad you cant get them.

here is a link to Chuck's previous post on how to do the peeling paint;

There is a whole page devoted in the Finscale Railroader annual that is out now.
If you wish to take your modeling to the next level I highly recomend a subscription.

Nice little structure. Cool paint and hardware. The touch that helps bring it all together for me is the wear marks where the door slides against the wall. Nice little bit.

Excellent, Marty! You put Chuck's instructions to good use![:-thumbu]

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm a busy man. I have a railroad to run.

Marty, just curious, did you use a sand blaster or just use sand paper when using Chuck's technique?

Marty, I really like this. The broom does it for me! As I mentioned to you before, I think the light is very cleverly mounted, something I will try sometime.

Rick, I was hoping to do a clearer write-up of the paint technique sometime, maybe a step by step with pictures. I don't know yet exactly what Marty did, but the sandblast step is totally optional. I have gotten really good results just doing the tape peel. I have been trying to not use that step because I have to use the sandblaster at work, and it isn't always functional!

Again, Marty,[:-thumbu][:-thumbu][:-thumbu]

Thanks again all.
Really was a FUN project.
No sandblaster, just tape and peel.
I had thought about it but didnt want it to lok too worn out.

Chuck, really no need for the pictures & step by step.
The FR page works great.
Folks just need to try new stuff, it was super easy, I hesitated for a bit but once I saw the results was hooked!
My first attempts the paint was not thick enough, but actually lead to more "layers" on the final result.
Remember I used cheap acrylic paint too.

Keep the ideas coming!

Thanks for the reply Chuck and Marty.

BTW Chuck, I really like the job your doing on the 1/16'th project you're working on. Incredibly realistic.
