Are you aware of any website with a free railroad atlas?

Alternatively, do you know the route the UP takes from the Powder River Basin in Wyoming to deliver coal to central Illinois? More specifically, would the coal pass through Clinton IA, Ft. Madison IA or some other location?

Thanks!

Dennis

As a matter of fact I have. Google Earth has been a real life-saver for me in the early stages of thinking about design for next layout.

Appreciate your mentioning it. Learned about it less than 30 days ago. Great resource!

I don't know if this helps but try http://trains.rockycrater.org/pfmsig/index.php - it is a 1948 rail atlas.
