| [:-banghead]Hi guys need your help if you can please im trying to wire some leds on to my buffer stop but woud like the power to come from track i hv on order 24 1.8 leds red plus resistor and dieo need to work out how to go from AC TO DC via the bit sais pics would be helful please ty inadvance .mike |

try and explain a little more have 6 lines with power comming in from the buffer end wouuld like to wire l ed to track power if poss using resistor and dioded.mike

Hi Mike, Could you give us a little more info ie: are you using DCC? Do you want the led's to stay on all the time? Thanks,

Ok Mike, I believe that with DCC the polarity of the track never changes,if that is true then all you need to do is put the resistor in series with the LED on the long lead of the LED,this is the Pos side , and then hook to your track as follows long lead to + ,short lead to - . If both leads are the same lenght , then one side of the LED will be flat and that is the - side.You should not need the diode unless you want to drop the voltage some,if so just put it in series with the resistor.Hope this helps.I am leaving work right now,but will check back when I get home.Let me know if this is what you needed.

Ok to diode,but it will only drop about .7 volts. If you have the correct resistor,the LED should take upto about 20 volts with no problem.When I get home I will send you some links to pages that are very helpfull with this stuff.I am an electronics tech with 30 years expierience,but even I still need help sometimes lol I am heading out the door.Will be back in an hour or so.
