And some new modeling:

I have painted and drybrushed the new rocks, and made the stony beach. The diluted matte medium will need a day or two to dry. Some driftwood and seaweeds still missing.

Troels, sorry to hear your foot behaves naughtily again. Hope things will be better quickly.
For sure, this topic has been quiet too long...

Troels

I hope the foot gets better soon!

Even if you don't have time to model, I know your visitors are grateful to see your slice of Maine.

Thanks for your concern and cheering. The foot trouble is annoying, but I'll be fine :o)

Russ, the layout has no room to expand, and I'll have no second deck! The Coast Line will not be torn down and reshuffled either...

OK I want to see Troel's track plan for the second deck! Having operated at the late John Allens many times I can tell you Troels and he would have had a great time together. Both artists in their own medium, great story tellers, and modelers whose skills make us all humble! I have been spreading the gospel around my local neck of the woods since I first discovered the Coast Line. It seems others are now enjoying it just as much as I have. Congrats from all of us lurkers, your accolades are well deserved. Russ

Thank you Kevin and Gerry! Your nice words are much appreciated and very encouraging!

I'm sad to have lost momentum on the layout finishing. One thing after another has hindered progress for almost half a year... the latest supplied by my stupid foot which unexpectedly decided to act up again. But I'm trying to get rolling, and the steady stream of visitors keep reminding me to get going too... so something has to happen very soon ;o) I also hope to shoot a new DVD in the fall.

One of the joys of looking at the Micro-Mark Catalog cover photo is trying to identify each structure is shown. A lot of those buildings have become like friendly landmarks we might pass on the way to work every morning. I haven't seen a layout with this sense of familiarity since the days when John Allen's G&D was in all the model railroading magazines.

Troels, when your work is thought of as equal to John's, you have arrived as a milestone modeler. It's been our distinct pleasure to observe your journey, your creation. Many thanks.
