...... and while Atlas closed, we're all still here!!
Welcome and a Good Tuesday Morning to one and all in the Crew Lounge.
Fresh post of Railbender brew with containers of creosote and rust for you to add to taste.
Western style omellette's are the morning specialty, but you can order your eggs any way you'd like. Piles of bacon are being fried, alongside the ham slices and thin chops. Grits, oatmeal and fried taters are the sides. The counter is laden with donuts, fresh fruits, breads and biscuits.
All the juices, canned drinks and milks are in the ice tub.
Overcast skies once again, but only a slight chance of light showers or sprinkles. Once again, we could use some rain. Supposed to climb to around 84F today. Won't matter much as I'm on till 6:00.
Managed to get out back last night and run a couple of trains and took several pics, so that was nice and relaxing.
Lots to do at work as soon as I set foot in the door.

Turned 50 myself last summer, Simon. This weekend I was working on a switching tower by AMB. Did the roof in weathered green tarpaper, set it down, and went over to the cabinet to put the powders away. Came back and couldn't find the #@***&$! roof. Looked high and low for a full five minutes. Then, there it was, right on the desktop in front of my chair, blending in with the green cutting mat! D'oh!

First time visit in the crew lounge, what memories you just revived. My son and I used to railfan together and one of our favourite spots was in North Bend in British Columbia on the "CP" side. A restaurant for the crew and open to the public was just yards away from the track and the menu ran much like you offered here. So we could eat by the window and watch some incredible trains roll by; we could also listen in as the crew's got together. And occasionally we'd score a cab tour as the crew began to recognize us.
Much younger, wind the clock back, way back. My grandfather and uncle were CN engineers in Jasper Alberta. My grandfather joined a "pre-CN" RR in Jasper when he dropped out of school after grade 4. He became a "door knocker" on his bike riding to homes of engineers and crew to give them news of their new or changed schedule - hence the door knocking. My uncle also started as a door knocker leaving school after grade 6.
My grandfather would take the Super Continental out of Jasper to Edson; the consist latter became Via; he also taking it out of Jasper to Edson and back. Often I would stop in to the beanery attached to the station for a meal with him as I walked him to his sign in location, then onto the engine, me waiting in the cab until it left, and meeting the train when it arrived in the evening. |

The 3 Tam Valley Hex Frog Juicer went in and are working well! Did some track work and replaced a pesky Atlas wye #4 with a Peco wye #5. That works well too.
I know what you mean Simon. When I built the Newington tower crossover section of my layout a couple of YEARS ago I dropped feeders with the intention of connecting them up to the bus. Well, apparently I plum forgot about them. When I installed the Tam Valley juicers I found them dangling where I had left them. I have had a dozen or so op sessions without a problem through the area. I had a few flickering headlights but I attributed that to dirty wheels. Well, no more flickering headlights. Doh!!! |

Morning, still is, Mike and the rest of the RR-L Crew.
I've been rather busy lately. Between RSSM work and also having to step up to Commander of the Honor Guard of the local KofC my time has been tight. Two funerals and a couple of special Masses to lead Honor Guards at plus quite a few Hap Hazard Kits to get shipped can tax one.
Big news is I bought a small 3D printer. Should be here in a week or sooner. Not sure when I'll get the time to do anything with it the way it's going but I sure hope to. Mainly it will be for proto-typing detailing pieces.
Everyone have a safe May Day in the Train Yard.

Good morning all. My Tam Valley Depot servo controller installation was stalled over the weekend. I spent hours searching high and low for my drill to create the holes beneath the turnouts. Having passed 50 last September, I am not 100% certain that I did not put the darned thing somewhere and forget about it. Anyway, problem solved Sunday evening when my 28 yr old step daughter fessed up to having "borrowed" it for a small project with her Dad when he came and visited her new home last weekend!! Argh!!! |

Good Morning All!
AN Omelet sounds just ducky, yeah it's raining here, but we really do need it. had a really long day yesterday so no trains last night. I have high hopes for this evening though, it won't belong that they will loose out to outdoor stuff on a really regular basis.
Speaking of outdoor stuff, I wanna go play with Bruce! Sounds awesome.

I heard from Walt! He's out straight with orders and the KofC duties.
He has to keep his tux on while packing kits so he can fullfill his social obligations on quick notice.
Rain here today so I'll stay in and work on some kit packing.

Good Tuesday Morning Mike, Mark, Bruce, Kris, Jerry and Crew when they come in.
It's a cloudy and humid 62 and we'll top out at a sunny 72.
Thanks for opening Mike. I'll have the Western omelets, bacon, fried taters, and a "Railbender" coffee please.
It's humid this morning so I'll take it easy for the time being. The humidity does drop this afternoon tho so I'll play around outdoors some.
I have to run to the shop toward the end of the week so I'll drop by the LHS before heading for home.
Jeremy has to have a skin graft on his foot next Tuesday as his foot isn't healing worth a darn.

Well, Just some more coffee here as I did a Golden Arch egg thing on the way in today. But the dog was sure happy to be up and going somewhere so early this morning... or is it the potato bites she likes... humm.... Anyway, good looking sunrise in the mile high today.
More 'work' on the model front today as I need to "color" the parts to a 'quick kit' for one of the club members who was unable to attend the first of two hands-on weathering clinics I'm presenting. Think that I'll also try to use the build in some articles I'm trying to put together. Should be a pretty busy day at the model bench, but no progress on my personal build.
Hope that you enjoy whatever modeling adventures you can get into today. |

Good morning Mike, Mark and the rest of the crew. The sun is breaking through the clouds as I look out over the ocean here in Virginia Beach.
Yesterday we visited the Museum of Military Aviation down here and were lucky to see the prep and fly a number of WWII fighters off their grass field. They have quite a collection of restored WWII planes and fresh built WWI replicas. Almost all are in flying condition.
Today we will head down to the Kitty Hawk region of the outer banks of N.C.
