I will be making an Express Mail Rail truck for the L&R Railroad. Just what exactly I will be putting into this, and how it will eventually look, will play out as the construction goes forward. Here are the two items that will be used in this Rail truck construction. With Spring now here, and Summer just around the corner, we’ll see how far this gets to completion.

Thank you very much Vic. I'm glad you posted about NWSL replacement gears. That is a good option to know about.
The truck runs so well, that I'd like to do all I can to keep it that way.
I know Bachmann's split gear stories well. I own alot of Bachmann steamers, and for having great looking locomotives right out of the box, you would think they would help their company by using better gears. Anyway, thanks for your comments and great information. [:-thumbu] |

Thanks Les, and yes it runs very well and quite smooth as well.
I've been told though that the 44 Tonner drives run well for a while than crap out. So, time will tell. I'm hoping that he just had a bad one, and it won't be a problem for me. However, it is easy enough to change out if I have to.

Thanks Dave. Yes, it is a hot little sh*t running around. My wife thinks it's the coolest piece of equipment on the layout.

For the most part it is finally finished. A few tweaks here and there, and some weathering would help. I will post pictures of it on the layout with a box car in-tow, as Les requested But, these will be still photos, as I am not into videos or know anything about how to go about them.

Louis, true test, how it looks running on the layout. TO COOL. Looks like you’r already having too much fun running it.I think you should at least do a light weathering to finish it off.
