Hey Dallas, congratulations on reaching your 3rd anniversary of this thread!
This thread has become so much more, then how it originally started out.
The vast array of tips & info that you have taken the time to share with all of us, is all greatly appreciated!
And the zany adventures with Mr.Mudgeon & the rest of the crew,has really been my favorite aspect of this build!
I hope this project will continue to entertain us all, for a very long time to come!

Oops, I somehow missed the 3rd Anniversary [:-party] of my still-unfinished "60 days" challenge (or whatever it was) ... still haven't given up! Just busy as heck with On30 stuff ... Mudgeon and the gang are still running around causing various antics and eager to get going again! (And, boy, we sure have piled up some neat little add-on bits to put in place "eventually" during the down time.) [:-moptop] [:-turtle] |

Poor Mr.Mudgeon, you can tell he's not being used enough by his maker, by the amount of dust around his legs & feet. [:-banghead] So Sad!

Dallas, the loco and diorama are superb, and I am really enjoying the kitchen pieces come together. The coloring is very praiseworthy. |

Hey Dallas - great to see you're back at it! The backsplash looks pretty good to me! No " irregularities" jump out to me...Although, in sure that as you built it, you know it pretty well, but it just looks good - the asbestos is a nice touch too!

Hey Bill --
Yer right! Somebody's waaaaayyyy overdue for a personal modeling break ... so, tonight I made a nice, safe asbestos mat to put under that big clunky stove ... and a tin backsplash to keep the crap ... er, grease & stuff ... off the wall. You can see all the irregularities in the homemade tin when you look this close ...
But, I think that once all the "foreground" stuff shapes up, it will become "just" a background texture as intended. Think I'm gonna cut the height down by about a row ... and, in case it isn't incredibly obvious ... everything's kinda jury-rigged and crooked and stuff at this point! |
