Had a couple pm's asking about our group so I thought I would start a thread.
October 4th was our second show, I forgot about The Great Barn Meet in May. This time we where a little more refined and organized. Just Trains in Concord Ca had their annual Open House. We arrived at 0835 and where running by 1005. November we will be at Railfair in Roseville Ca and hope to cut the setup time down a bit. Just Trains had a very unlevel parking lot so it made a bit of a challenge for us.
NCNG is Bill Iwan, John Cooper, Scott Robinson, Marc Pryor, Joe Melhorn, Dave Silvernail, And Steve Shiflett. We get together at least once a month. This is our first year so I am sure things will change.

The modules are looking good!!! Barn Meet 2011 is only 9 mos away. I will look forward to seeing them up close and personal. |

Our module club setup at the Great Train Exhibition in Sacramento this past weekend went well and we talked with a lot of nice folks, young and old, male and female. We did our best to promote the hobby and especially our scale/gauge by handing out flyers explaining what it is we model. We also inspired some would-be modelers who have been on the fence for some time to give this a try. We may even have picked up a few new members. The following are a few pictures of our layout. Unfortunately the lighting was not that great leading to underexposed pictures and a little blur.

Just wanted to let everyone know that we will be setting up this weekend at the "Great Train Expo" in Sacramento Ca this weekend. If anyone is in the area stop by and say Hi.
Hope to debut my new module, but we will see how things dry.

The grade crossing signs are paper copies made from an old Model Railroader article about railroad signs. I just glue them to grey card board and a painted balsa post. Add a little weathering and that is it. On the logging module I broke one when "planting it". The back-story is that a truck clipped the sign when it skidded in the wet mud leading up to the tracks. So I took a 1x4ish piece of lumber and spliced the post back together. Added some nail holes and made an "in the field" repair. All the other signs are from various sources on line that sell real signs. I just down load the image, scale, cut and paste. I find that signs really give a scene that added dimension as do people.

Scott, I had problems with both of the posted links.

A very nice website featuring pictures of some very nice layouts.
A word of caution, there is sound on some of the pages, turn your computers volume down.
The link to your site I couldn't figure what the problem was.
