Lets see those alcos. I will start with this old atlas kato that was reworked from the RS11 model into a CN RS-18. Minitures by Eric provided the anticlimber pilots, numberboards and other ditty bits. The paint was custom mix of tamaya blacks, red and orange. The decals were microscale. Pencil was used to bring out the louver details.

Here are a few pictures of my latest acquisition an MLW M630 (ALCO Licensed Product) painted in one of the neatest schemes ever the Canadian Pacific Script in Maroon and Gray!
Just got this unit on special sale from Klein's.

Nice pics of one of my favorite places - Winslow jtc. There have been some really interesting pieces of equipment down there since I started paying attention in the late 80s - and it was a busy place in years past. The jtc is a shadow of its former self.
LV414, which 2 of our forum members helped rewire years ago (I don't think they come around here too often these days), is now living at Steamtown USA. This link - http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/LocoPicture.aspx?id=32190&Page=1 has a lot of early pics of 414 and current Steamtown photos as well.

I'm not sure Alco would approve of supporting the C420 on its pilot, rather than the jacking pads, but it's long out of warranty...

Now that I got the hang of loading pictures, here are a couple more.
These were taken at the SRNJ shop in Winslow, NJ. The LV loco was repaired and is off working somewhere. Have not seem it in a while. They have several MLW diesels they use for most work. One which was kept for parts was scraped one day. I happened by to watch it be mauled by a scrap backhoe type machine. It cut it up pretty easily. It tossed the fuel tank around like a toy.
This might make an interesting repair scene.
As for the PRR antenna, that is the PRR Trainphone system. Always fun to install.

Those proto shots are indeed a sad sight. Hopefully there was some restoration there. Your model really has an interesting antenna array. I guess that was typical for PRR locomotoves. |

Here is some local ALCO repair action plus a little of my handy-work. I do need some window glass. The Hammerhead is just placed on my HOn3 layout for some background.

Thanks Chris. I can't take credit for the RS1 paint or detail. My friend Don Janes did the whole job for me in exchange for my reworking one of his brass steamers. Don even removed the cast grab irons and replaced them with wire. Drilled out the walk way stanchions and used used wire there as well. He does great work. |
