John (B-bags)

Thought of you when I saw this can label as I was going through some of my sign stuff. This looks like a perfect sign for you Alaska RR.

Slightly different but still related, sometimes if I'm detailing a building interior, a coach or a station it's useful to have a magazine or newspaper. Ebay is a great source; just type in '1930's magazine' or '1950's newspaper' or whatever and there will be loads of pictures that can be copied, resized and printed off. Certainly in O scale and above it's worth the trouble and it's nice knowing that the magazine someone has left lying on the bench outside your station is one that was actually published in the year your layout represents, even if no one else is going to notice. In G Scale you can even read the newqspaper headlines!

For Mac users, I also created four different sizes of the Dutchman Ale image, half inch, 1, 2, and 3 inches wide. You can download them using the links.

I created a nice, clean .emf file version of the Dutchman Ale logo last March for Bruce. And, I wanted to provide it for everyone on the forum. But, the file is too big to upload to the forum. So, I copied it out to my public DropBox folder. Here is the link for anyone who wants it:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/46936653/DutchmanAle.emf

When it opens, right click on the image and select "Save Picture As..." and save it wherever you want to on your hard drive.

The nice thing with the .emf file is that you can use it in Word, Powerpoint, etc and resize it to whatever size you need and it will remain sharp. I'm not sure if it will work for Mac users.

Martin... Probably 1930s-1950s. (Most are based on fruit crate labels.)

Ian, seeing what they show on tv commercials in Europe these would be pretty tame I'm sure.

I'd like to see more of them too.

If you don't want kids to see them, raise the layout height
